This is the best RPG I've ever played. The graphics are great, despite being 2D, and the audio is also very good. The storyline is epic, and pulls you into the game until you never want to leave (evidenced by play till 3am lol) and you can play over and over again with different main characters and parties, and still find new stuff to do. The level up system is easy to understand, all be it slightly restrictive compared to later games, but I dont find this to be a problem. Then there is the constant thrill of finding new and bigger magic weapons and armour to help you smite 7 shades of .... out of your foes >=)
Battles are also good, and being able to pause to cast spell or perform other actions is very useful.
A must for all RPG gaming fans. No, screw that...a must for EVERYONE :D
