As stated on my Kingdom Hearts preview, I'm no fan of Square or rpgs in general. Way too slow for my taste. But hey, I gave this one a chance because its $20 and everyone claims to love it to death anyway.
Square manages for the Xth time to just make a whole scripted movie, accompanied by many battles and cut scenes galore. Interesting for a while, but I got tired of powering up everyone right after fighting that Seymour on Mt. Gagazet. I’m sorry but I don’t have the patience for LONG, DRAWN OUT GAMES. So much to get lost in this game, but come on. You train your team and battle against others, just like a certain Nintendo game on the game boy, with monsters and such...
*NEW* Just been informed that you catch monsters in FFX too! Hmmm!
I’m not clowning on FFX, it really is great. However it’s just not my taste at all. Way too ... something.
I admit I can understand why people love these squenix games, but for the minorities in the gaming world (those who don’t like rpgs, such as myself), there’s nothing for them. Fans already have the game though, so no need to recommend it to them.
