The Link to the Past and I have love and hate relationship. I love how it makes me feel deep in the root of action advanture, dungeon crawling and boss fighting. I can play hours and hours this game without stopping. However, if I don't access to internet strategy and walkthrough, I think this game is impossible to get through. For a first time Link player, maybe it's because I'm not use to this kind of puzzle solving, but how the hell can I know where exactly can I find the next heart piece? Or where exactly should I warp back and forth between ligth and dark world in order to get something? This is a vast world, it plus the dark world, it's double the size, it doesn't give any clue of what you should get in between each dungeon until you go there and find out you can't get through, and you then wonder what you need. But how can I know where to get those? For action adventure, it's good, but for puzzle solving, it's bad. Besides, if you die in the dungeon, no matter how much you have gained access, you have to start from the beginning of this dungeon all over again. If I don't go buy a couple of medicine, going through the dungeon alone(fighting or avoiding various little enemies) will kill me dozen of times. Anyhow, it's no doubt a classic for action adventure fans, especially it's the definer of this genre starting from first generation games. You just can't deny it's value.
