So here we are with another installation in the only series that has Final in yet, but continues to keep producing games. The graphics in Final Fantasy X are crisp and clear and make good use of the Playstation 2™'s engine, the framerate never drops thus never slowing down the game, the story is captivating with an always twist at the end, the battle system is new and unique getting rid of the active time battle grid, the new characters have unique personalities and in the end I didn't enjoy this game. I just gave all these positives yet I just told you I didn't enjoy it. What I really didn't like about this game is that it's another Final Fantasy where I expected everything to happen as I said it would. The graphics would of course be a good thing which never pours rain on anyone's parade, but what I don't like about it is that I simply don't have the same enthusiasm for this game I used to. The battle system is mediocre compared to several other games of today's age and is too simplistic. The twists in this game are numerous as compared to other Final Fantasys and make more sense rather than a few. (i.e. VIII really dropped the ball with the whole party being related to each other and a villain in the game, but they just didn't remember it and IX with the entire planet being connected thus allowing our main protagonist to see into the past of his object of love) The twists in this game such as Titus finding out his father is Sin and he's nothing but a dream are so anticlimatical it's almost as if it wasn't even an important factor to the game. The way they presented it didn't make my jaw drop at all. It was simple and straight to the point, "Your father is sin." Geez, great way ruin a major plot in the story. Also the fact that Auron was already did was mind boogling. Some of the characters like Wakka and Khimari are just so ridiculous that you can't believe that you have to play as these fools at one point in the game or another. The Final boss battle is also a joke. You're given automatic life so that you're ensured to beat the game. The entire gmae was purely story-driven and the actual gameplay in the game was just for the purpose of moving on the game. Other than that I only wanted to beat this game so that I didn't blow 50 bucks. This is purely my opinion and I feel that a majority of people will disagree with it, but that is completely understandable. The game itself is great, but I probably didn't like it since I came in playing it expecting the same exact storylines and twists. I do however suggest that any Final Fantasy Diehard fan have this gamein their collection.
