Bullet time? Check. Intense storyline? Check. Gratuitous violence? Check. Baseball bat boy? Check. The makings of a spectacular sequel? Check.
Max Payne 2 is one of the best sequels I've played. Not only does it capture what made the first Max Payne game great, it improves upon the first game to make Max Payne 2 a truly memorable experience.
The grapics in the first Max Payne game were very impressive for its time and the sequel has really raised the bar. The lighting, textures, and physics engine are all vastly improved. This is definitely one of the best looking games I've played, not because it is incredibly pretty to look at, but it captures the grittiness of Max Payne and fits the style perfectly.
The gameplay is a straightforward run and gun formula, but there were some definitely memorable moments. My favorite was probably the intense sniping level.
The bottom line, Max Payne 2 is a great game that should definitely be experienced by every XBOX owner who hasn't had a chance to play it yet.
