This game marked the first appearance of that old primate "Donkey Kong" on the SNES. Lets just say that Donkey Kong definately made a splash when he arrived on this console.
To start off, Donkey Kong Country had outstanding graphics that really helped flesh out the levels. Having both well designed and colorful levels made the gameplay a real joy. Add to that very appropriate background music and each level became a feast for the eyes and ears. You didn't just play this game, you experienced it.
Having said that, I will close by saying that Donkey Kong Country was a welcome breath of fresh air to a console that two plumbers dominating the platformer genre. For SNES owners this is definately one to add to your collection.
