This game suprised me. It suprised me not because it was actually a good use of a movie license or because it has lush graphics and the fantastic musical score from the films. No what suprised me was just how much fun this game is to play. After playing through AOE, RON and countless other RTS games I began to realise that I was no longer having fun. Therefore it was with trepidation that I installed BFME2 on the hard drive. Once installed though I was hooked, playing the game for 7 hours straight before falling into bed in the early hours and dreaming abour Goblins, Orcs and Wizards. The gameplay is nothing new by any means but the fun factor is back and there is just something so satisfying about charging cavalry into a bunch of enemy goblin archers and seeing them demolished in seconds. The game is all about having fun and beating up the good/bad guy as best you can. For me this is the most fun RTS game i've played since the original C&C came out. I can't put a finger on just why this game is so much fun and why I'm so addicted to it, but I wholeheartedly recommend this if you enjoy RTS and want to play something that's fun and not have to worry about rebuilding farms every two minutes or spending all your resources researching the latest era.
Of course there are some niggles but they are outweighed by the sheer amount of goodness I got from the game.
