Zelda was a big winner on the n64 with Ocarina of Time and so did on the Gamecube with Wind Waker specially the graphics style. So now Nintendo changes stuff once again. With the new game four swords adventures.
This game plays more like a GBA version of Zelda. In this game you control 4 Links at the same time. In which you can line them up like cross. Also get ready for a lot of puzzle solving. You will have to collect this force gems in order to destroy some weird dark stuff thingies. So if you don't have enough force gems you will go back in time and get them all. But once you already get enough force gems you will immediately be moved to the shadow thingies so you can destroy them. My problems of this game are that you have to think a lot. Also some enemies can get very difficult to defeat. It would be nice if they could at least made each Link have their own unique power or sword. They are some stuff like boomerangs and arrows but you can only have one at the same time. Anyone who likes a Link to the past for the GBA might enjoy this game. Otherwise if you like Zelda with 3D graphics or something like Wind Waker well don't expect anything of that on this game. O almost forgot you can only save when you finish the huge level. So even if you want to stop and continue that stage tomorrow you simply can't do that.
Sadly this game looks exactly like a GBA game. But at least it has some great special effects that make the score get a little high. Bu6t everything else is like playing GBA.
Zelda games are also well known by his great music. But in this game you will forget about the music easily since you have to concentrate a lot because of the frustration. Still you have your great hyrule's castle music.
Like a lot of people this is the best reason to have a GBA link cable that connects with the Gamecube. So in order to play this game in multiplayer each player needs the Link cable. Well at least the game gives you one free. In the adventure in singleplayer you can use the controller. But in multiplayer everyone has to use the kink cable. This was one of the things I got mad with Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Otherwise if you have it you will have a great time in adventure and shadow battles.
This game is recommended to people who like the Zelda games on the GBA and that don't have problems with the link cable. Anyone else should not really need to waste there money. It would have been nice for $20 dollars even if the game dint bring the link cable. But at $50 dollars I am not really going to waste that money.
With the big frustration of the game no one will want to play this game again. But you have a map where you can play the old stages again which I think its nice thing they add there.
Four Swords Adventures doesn't deliver something powerful to the Zelda series. But is a good game that you might have fun for some hours. But as much I love Wind Waker I don't really love this one that much.
