I'm a great fan of 4x games and this is one of the best around at the moment. If you're fed up with building civilizations on planet earth and feel the need to extend beyond then space can be an awfully big place and GalCiv2 is here to help....

This game has a hell of a lot in common with civilization. Huge tech trees, and expansion are the main parts of the game.
Considering Civ4 came out recently, the turn based strategy genre is doing pretty well to get such good quality games....

GC2 will invariably draw comparisons to the Master of Orion series and the Civilization series, as well it should. It is definitely what the infinitely disappointing MOO3 should have been. There are elements that seem almost directly copied from...

This game is truly a tribute to the genre of turn based strategy. You play as one of ten unique races in a quest to dominate the galaxy through technological achievement, cultural influence, diplomatic relations, or of course brute force.

Just want to say KUDOS to the Stardock team. This is a great game. I have been playing SW Empire at War. I started reading the reviews and picked up GC2. It will be a long time before I play SW Empire at War again.
The game play...

Some would call it the "spiritual" successor to Master of Orion 2, the game that picks up where Master of Orion 3 never could. Is it? I'd say it's a resounding "YES!".
Strategy games have long been the province of spreadsheets, ugly...

Galactic Civilizations II is Master of Orion III made the right way. Heck no, it's much better than Master of Orion I, II, III and even IV (if they dare doing it someday) put together. Every little complains I had with GC I were adressed. The...

I found this game fantastically addictive. The graphics are sharp and informative while the user interface remains clean. Playing on the harder difficulties I did not run into cheating AI, it was adaptive and responsive to my moves but nothing...

If you ahve ever played the Master of Orion Series, and like the rest of us hated the 3rd game. This is for you. It really does seem like the spiritual successor to MoO2.
The second Gal-Civ has a host of new...

Short and sweet: This is the game that Masters of Orion 3 should have been. Absolutely fabulous.
The levels of difficulty are implemented very, very well, so that you can have fun even if you're not very good at the game yet.
