What would the release of a Nintendo console be without a Mario game? Super Mario Advance is an almost exact replica of Super Mario Bros 2, which came out on the Super Nintendo back in the day. Commonly referred to as the bastard child of the Mario series, this is the game that the original Mario programmer had nothing to do with, and it shows. Instead of jumping on the baddies to kill them, you have to pick up things and throw items at the baddies (you can also pick up and throw baddies at other baddies too which is cool) to get rid of them. Seriously, if you can get over that fact, this is a very enjoyable game. I easily got over that fact and love SMA. In addition, also included with SMA is the original Mario Bros game which introduced the world to Luigi. You also get annoying Mario voice overs, "Itsa me, Mario" J. If you like the original game, you'll love this-especially in multiplayer. You know you're going to get this game regardless of what I write because it's Mario. The good news is that it is worth getting.

Remember Super Mario Bros. 2 for the original NES? Well it's back, and it's shaping up to be better than ever on Game Boy Advance. Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad adventure through an incredible fantasy world on a quest to save the day, with little more than vegetables with which to defend themselves! The basic gameplay mechanics are the same in the Game Boy Advance version, but new enemies and challenges give the adventure a completely new feel.
Unlike other Mario games where Mario defeats enemies by jumping on their heads, in this game Mario and pals have to pick up items and hurl 'em at their adversaries. Even enemies can be picked up and tossed across the screen! Each character has a unique set of strengths and weaknesses, such as Princess Peach's ability to hover longer than any other character. New enemies and items are scattered everywhere, and as the screens here and on the next page eloquently attest, the graphics have never looked better.
As an added bonus, Super Mario Advance will also include a four-player game based on the original Mario Bros. game. Battle your friends to collect coins and kick Koopa Shells in this frenzied fight to come out on top. It's old-school gaming with a modern twist!
