No matter what the cover of the game looks like, Tim Burton did not design the game. It's a shame too because no matter how much Okage tries to look and feel different from other roleplaying games out there, it ends up just being more of the same.
The selling points are definitely the graphics and story. Both are somewhat unique, especially for an RPG. The graphics have that stylish and colorful look to them which only could've been inspired by Tim Burton. The animations are decent and the unique lands you'll explore are beautiful. The game isn't a graphical powerhouse, however, it's just a nice game to look at with some unique design.
The story is also pretty cool with quite a few moments of humor to keep you chuckling. The writing isn't really great, but the story has heart, humor, and gives the gamer a reason to play.
Everything else is pretty standard however. The battle system is nothing we haven't seen before. The gameplay is fairly run-of-the-mill, and while it's a long game (say 30 to 50 hours) there's really no reason to come back for more.
It's a good solid game however, and gamers who love a decent RPG will likely find their money well spent.
