I had written a review for another site a year ago when the game hit the Nintendo GameCube. What I said then still applies now, albeit the game loes points because it's another year older. It does gain a point because it's at a bargain price point.
An intense action/horror game with a super-sexy, super-lethal, super-natural heroine named Agent BloodRayne…the most deliciously wicked action heroine ever to grace a console game. She's half-human, half vampire and all woman. Raised and trained to hunt supernatural evil, BloodRayne is an explosive force with lethal style, gymnastic dexterity and a lust for action.
Or, as I like to say, 'whatever'. This game was a console port from a year ago and it's finally on the PC. Thankfully it's at a reduced price point, so it does have that going for it. Oh, and it's rated M for a reason.
I bet you can't guess what Agent BloodRayne does.....she kills people and sucks their blood!! Aren't you surprised? Why is it rated M you ask? Well, let's say that the game uses a lot of language -- much racier than NYPD Blue. Oh yeah, and the sound of Agent BloodRayne sucking and moaning...uhh...let's just say that it doesn't sound like she's sucking blood out of a guys neck, if you know what I mean.
The box quotes a magazine saying "I couldn't put it down." Obviously he was about 14 years old and frustrated with his sexuality because I can easily put this game down. I could go on, so I will.
To the game's credit, it has a unique way of including a 'bullet time' like feature and it doesn't have a clock. That's cool. Sucking blood gives you additional rage powers which let you do more and more stuff.
Graphics are very impressive and hey, if you're looking for softcore, this is a great place to get cleavage views.
If you've played the console versions, move along, nothing to see here, unless you want to hear that sucking in glorious EAX sound. It's still the same game --kill the baddies, suck their blood, walk around, kill some more. ZZZZ.
It's a shame, I think we could all go for an action thriller game made for adults, but this isn't it.
