This has to be the most intense game I've ever played! It's an insane, extremely fast moving 3-on-3 tag team fighter with 56 playable characters from the Marvel and Capcom universes.
Graphically it's the best looking Street Fighter game yet because of some very gorgeous non-interactive, high resolution, 3D backgrounds. And while the Backgrounds are in 3D, the character models are not, they're just basic low resolution Street Fighter series characters. This can be somewhat of a disappointment but seeing how these are mostly comic book characters and the game tends to somewhat resemble a comic book at times, the character models seem to fit in just fine.
Sound is more or less an upgrade from the arcade game with better music. The character voices are all in here, so is the usual Capcom announcer. I just wish we could have gotten more voice samples from the characters.
I was very pleased with the way you have to unlock characters--the more you play, the more points you get and you get to buy new characters, costumes and whatnot in the shop. This is very cool and it also tremendously increases replay value to the game.
Gameplay is FAST--probably a little too fast for some. The hardcore gamer and people who don't have a heart condition should enjoy it just fine. So while MvC2 is an excellent game and one of the best 2D fighters ever made, it's not for everybody. The ultra-intense action and button smashing gameplay just might be a little too much for some gamers. You know what you can handle and if you're a fan of the genre, this game would make an excellent addition to your collection. If you're not too sure, just stop by an arcade, or a rental store, as it's worth checking out even if you can't handle it.
