Everything old is new again in Timesplitters: Future Perfect, a lovingly designed first-person shooter developed by Free Radical, the group behind the classic Nintendo 64 shooter Goldeneye 007.

Future Perfect can be described in one word: value.  Aside from a breathtaking single-player campaign, Future Perfect has a staggering amount of modes to ensure maximum replay potential.  Players can make their own maps and swap them online, tackle the story mode with a friend online and off, go head-to-head against other players with any one of 150 hidden characters, tackle twitch-based arcade challenges and more.  All told, one could play this game for well over 60 hours and still not see everything.

Previous Timesplitters games (this is the third in the series) have always been great for multiplayer parties, but the single-player levels never satisfied.  Future Perfect's single-player mode remedies this problem with tons of variety, addicting gunplay and a hilarious story that takes some subtle (and some not so subtle) jabs at everything from Hollywood blockbusters to the gaming industry as a whole.  From Vin Diesel to Doom 3, nothing is safe from the wrath of Future Perfect's quick wit.

Future Perfect looks and sounds great.  Level designs are amazingly well-thought out, character models reflect the game's humorous atmosphere, and visuals stay sharp and crisp with very little slowdown.  The music is a bit lacking, but the weapon effects are loud and clear, and the voice-overs are nothing short of the best comedic delivery in gaming today.

Overall, anyone with the least bit of interest in first-person shooters will find something to like about Timesplitters: Future Perfect.  This might very well be the best console first-person shooter ever.
