Ghosts 'n Goblins Cheats


Broken Timer

Do the frog trick and time your 15th hit so that the frog spell hits you as the time runs out but before the death animation stops. The 0 in the minutes space of the timer will then change indefinitely in a fixed sequence every minute to a different number, letter, symbol, blank, or garbage character, sometimes in a different font. Arthur/frog (revived) will be either normal or disfigured and the music will stop. The glitch will last until Arthur dies or completes the level.

Easter Eggs

Turn into a Frog

Duck and then shoot a tombstone 15 times in a row and an angel character will appear. This angel will fire a bolt at you. Let it hit you and you'll become a frog.

Unlock The Credits

During the game's ending, after the monster, and Princess Prin Prin slideshow passes, you'll see "Knight Arthur's" animation. On this screen, hold Up + Button 1 + Button 2 + 1 Player Start. You should be taken to the credits scene instead of getting the "The End" screen.

Gun.Smoke Cheats


An interesting bug

When you're on level two, make sure you have a horse when you kill Roy Knife. Once he is dead, walk over his corpse and your horse will be killed. Roy raises from the dead as a sort of indestructible zombie. You can shoot him as much as you like, but he won't die. In this way you can play until you get tired of it.

Skip fights in arcade mode

Although arcade mode is usually only 1 player, to avoid skip the level, another controller is needed. If you are stuck in a particular level or simply want to skip levels, first, select your character. Wait till the console loads the battle. When the fight has just begun, press the start button on controller 2. Something around the lines of "here comes a new challenger" will appear on the screen and the music will change. You will then be taken back to the character screen. With the second controller, select the person that you were about to fight with and wait till the battle begins again. Then with the first controller, kill the other fighter (since he is controlled by controller 2, he won't do anything unelss someone operates him, so you can easily get a perfect). Once you have beaten him in both rounds, wait tillthe character screen and the map comes up again and the plane in the map will move to the next level. In other words, you have just skipped that level. This will work all the time except when the computer is playing as M.Bison

Game Stats Since Last Reset

This is a simple code to check the game stats since the last reset. Enter it, and two rows of numbers will appear like this:

The first top number is unknown, the second is the number of coins entered on the P1 side, the third is unknown, and the fourth is the number of coins entered on P2 side.
As for the second row, it's simply the number of times Ryu, E. Honda, Blanka, Guile, Ken, Chun-Li, Zangief, and Dhalsim have been used respectively.

Note: This code also works in all revisions as well as the "sequel," Street Fighter II: Championship Edition.

Dhalsim's Invisibility

When playing as Dhalsim, try inputting Down, Down Forward, hold Forward, MK or HK, HP. It might take a few tries, but it'll result in Dhalsim turning invisible. The hit box programming is inconsistent; some attacks won't connect, and other will cause Dhalsim to automatically block. If an attack connects, it will knock Dhalsim out of the glitch.

Guile's Free Flash Kick

You can store up an extra of Guile's Flash Kick and trigger it without having to do another charge motion. Perform a Strong throw, and immediately press down to start charging. Just before Guile goes through the recovery animation from the throw, press Up and any kick button. If you perform a Flash Kick immediately, that means you've done it too late. You can tell you've done the glitch correctly if Guile's sprite walks backwards for a frame. Press any kick button while on the ground to trigger the Flash Kick. It must be triggered within a few seconds, or the charge will reset.

Guile's Free Sonic Boom

It's possible to perform Guile's Sonic Boom without having to do the charge motion. Perform a Strong throw, then continue holding in the same direction, and press any punch button just after recovering from the throw.

Guile's Handcuffs

When playing as Guile, charge down for a Flash Kick, perform a Strong throw, and interrupt the throw mid-animation with the Flash Kick. Doing so will result in your opponent freezing completely, and their sprite will become stuck to Guile's. The only way to cancel the Handcuffs is to perform Guile's Magic Throw, which is an entirely separate glitch. If time runs out while the Handcuffs are active, the game will need to be restarted.

Guile's Invincibility

By combining some of Guile's other glitches, you can actually make him completely invincible. First, you must activate the Stance glitch. From there, perform a Magic Throw, but let the buttons go within three animation frames. This will result in Guile doing the throw animation, but the opponent won't actually be affected. During the animation, hold in the direction you're throwing, then perform a Sonic Boom in the other direction before Guile recovers. If done correctly, Guile will be completely frozen, but his hit box will no longer register. No attacks, projectiles, or throws will affect him. Otherwise, it operates the same way as his Stance glitch; it can be used to trigger other glitches, and requires a Flash Kick to cancel it.

Guile's Magic Throw

Guile is capable of throwing opponents without needing to be at close range. You have to be within range of using his upside down kick, then charge a Sonic Boom, walk slightly forward, the press Roundhouse, then Fierce or Strong immediately afterwards. If done correctly, the opponent will be thrown to the ground. The Magic Throw does the same amount of damage as the Strong Throw, and can be used against anything within range, including aerial-based moves like Blanka's roll or even during Vega's invincible cage climbing animation. This is also the only way to cancel out of Guile's Handcuffs, his other major glitch.

Guile's Stance

Guile can get stuck in a recovery frame of his upside down kick. While partway through a Flash Kick charge, press Back and Roundhouse near an opponent to do the upside down kick. During that animation, press towards your opponent and a punch button to cancel into a Sonic Boom. Guile will then freeze during the recovery. His low hit box will be invulnerable to most attacks, but he can still be hit out of the Stance. If you KO the opponent or the time runs out while the Stance is active, the round won't end until you cancel it with a Flash Kick.

Ryu Mirror Match

Normally, it's impossible to have mirror matches in The World Warrior. But you can do this with Ryu. If you reach his stage and lose, you can continue as Player 2 and choose to play as Ryu. However, there's no way to differentiate between who's playing whom; both have identical color palettes.

Ryu's Dizzy Damage

Due to the way Ryu's hit box is programmed, he can take double damage while in his dizzy animation. To do this, you must connect an attack when his sprite is leaning the farthest forward.

Vega's Vulnerability

Due to programming issues with Vega's hit box, he can be still be hit by an attack - including projectiles - during his recovery animation while on the ground. If the player is fast enough, any character can easily combo him into a KO.

Despawning Enemies

In various parts of the game enemies can be despawned, which is to say that they can be removed from the player's path on screen. To despawn an enemy have the enemy in question spawn on screen then retreat until that enemy can no longer be seen. Return to the enemy's location and the player will notice that it will be gone. This trick is most useful in the auto-scrolling section in the second half of stage 4. In this stage blue balls will appear in complicated locations obstructing the player's path. However, by running away until they are off-screen the player can return and find that a troublesome ball has disappeared, making a significantly smoother path. While not all enemies can be despawned and while not all despawns are as meaningful as the ones in stage 4 as mentioned above, despawning enemies in this way can make playthroughs far less complicated.

Invincibility Glitch

In the second half of stage 5 there is a section where the player must navigate through and avoid a series of avalanches. With the gold armor (there are enough treasure chests to acquire the gold armor by this point) charge Arthur's magic by holding the "shot" button then approach the first avalanche. Release the button to use Arthur's magic just before this first avalanche strikes him and Arthur will be invincible for the remainder of the stage! Arthur's will still have to avoid further avalanches and his shield can still take damage, but Arthur himself cannot. This invincibility will be gone at the beginning of stage 6, but take advantage of this glitch to very easily beat the boss of stage 5! If this glitch is exploited while using the crossbow Arthur will also gain super speed.

Hold up when picking up the key at the end of a level. A message saying "nice catch" will appear. It doesn't offer any additional points or bonuses but is fun either way.

Secret Items

Secret Chest

In the first half of stage 4 the player will eventually move to the right to face 2 green skulls, then climb a platforming section resembling a staircase before progressing to the left. With Arthur in gold armor and while using the crossbow weapon, stand at the top of this staircase and use his "Discover" magic (by pressing and holding the shot button) to reveal an otherwise inaccessible treasure chest. As the activation point for this chest is actually in the wall to the right of the chest, using this "Discover" magic is the only possible way to gain access.
