Beat the first level and then let yourself die. Once the press start screen appears hold R and press Start. Then at the Start Game Screen, hold R and press Start.

At the first title screen, press Start to bring up the phrase ''Start Game'' and ''Options.'' Then press B, A, B, Y, Down, Right, A, L, Down. Now begin the game. Anytime you want to skip a stage, hold L and press Up. To go to the previous stage, hold L and press Down.
